DSS to demonstrate equature® NG 9-1-1 Interoperability at NENA Industry Collaboration Event 2 (ICE2)

PRWeb, May 24, 2010

Southfield, MI – DSS Corporation, (www.dispatchimprovement.com) announced today that it will test its equature® Next Generation 9-1-1 recording solution at the second NENA (National Emergency Number Association) Industry Collaboration Event, casually referred to as “ICE 2”. This event will take place the week of May 24, 2010, and will allow several participating Public Safety vendors to test Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG 9-1-1) interfaces against each others’ systems. ICE 2 is focused on NG9-1-1 Transitional Elements.

ICE 2 Focus Areas:

This particular event will focus on elements that support the transition from the current E9-1-1 system to the NG9-1-1. Elements to be tested include but are not limited to:

• Elements and interfaces defined in i2 and i2.5 architectures such as VDB & ERDB
• Elements and interfaces identified in the i3 architecture such as Legacy Network Gateways (LNG) and Legacy PSAP Gateways (LPG)
• Other interfaces defined by other SDOs including ATIS/ESIF, and IETF that are specific to the transition including the Request For Assistance Interface (RFAI)
• Elements that are not defined explicitly in existing documentation but whose purpose is to facilitate the transition including “IP Selective Routers”

The tests are sponsored by NENA’s Next Generation Partner Program (NGPP). As an active NGPP member, DSS is working to ensure that its equature® recording platform conforms to NG 9-1-1 standards. DSS General Manager Joe Mosed said: “We’re committed to NG 9-1-1, not only by participating in the NG Partner Program, but also in providing expertise to NENA’s standards efforts. DSS made this commitment several years ago and equature® already supports NG content.
